“Birds fly and see the world from up above…so why can’t I?”

Ola! I love hiking! I am not a “harkor” (hardcore) but I always make sure to finish everything I started no matter how hard it is, and no  matter how long it takes. This blog isn’t to impress anyone but I really am proud of myself to finish 6 mountains in less than 24 hours!

It  was actually a sudden decision to climb. It was not on our plan to hike that day or even do a hexahike! I find  that crazy most especially that we climb 6 mountains right away to lower down the expenses.

These 6 mountains are just nearby even  though they are located in 2 different Barangays, namely Brgy. Mascap and Brgy. Wawa, allowing you to complete all of it in a day.

How we did it? I also don’t  know! We  just went to Brgy. Mascap first and let the locals provide our options. Initially, we wanted to do a trilogy  for Mt. Oro, Mt. Sipit-Ulang and Mt. Ayaas then just come  back for Mt. Hapunang- Banoi, Mt. Binacayan and Mt. Pamitinan but we suddenly thought about our expenses. If we will come back, then that’s another fare and food expenses.  Tour guides’ rates are standard so it won’t  really matter.

Anyways. Here are the photos and details of each mountains:

The views are really awesome! You can even have “suicidal shots”. There’s no harness or any other security in the mountains so better be careful when you’re posing and achieving such shots.

HOW TO GO THERE (from Cubao):

For Mt. Oro, Mt. Sipit-Ulang and/or Mt. Ayaas:

  1. Take a van or a jeep going to Montalban (Eastwood). Fare is 50php per head
  2. Take a tricycle going to Brgy. Mascap (jump off point). Fare is 60php up to 3 pax

For Mt. Binacayan, Mt. Hapunang-Banoi and/or Mt. Pamitinan:

  1. Take a van or a jeep going to Montalban (Eastwood). Fare is 50php per head
  2. Take a tricycle going to Brgy. Wawa (jump off point). Fare is 60php up to 3 pax

Note: Registration fee will be 30php/head and tour guide starts at 500php for 1 mountain. We paid 1,200php for 3 mountains. There can’t be only 1 guide for the 6 mountains. You should get one tour guide from Brgy. Mascap and one tour guide from Brgy. Wawa. It’s going to be a traverse from one barangay to another. The first tour guide will pass you to the second one.

Now, I’m sure that not all of you will choose to do the Hexahike so let me give you 3 suggested itineraries with their corresponding budget breakdown.

 1. Hexalogy

hexa

hexb

 2. Trilogy (Mt. Binacayan, Mt. Hapunang-Banoi and/or Mt. Pamitinan)

mascap

wawabb

    3. Trilogy (Mt. Oro, Mt. Sipit-Ulang and/or Mt. Ayaas)

mascap

masbb

Budget may be higher because they are more than one mountain, if in case you only one to climb one mountain, then surely, the  expenses will be lower. I can prepare an itinerary for you for any of these 6 mountains if ever you need it.

Don’t forget to bring extra clothes, lots water and food! At times, due to the heat, I had to remove my shirt. I always wear sports bra so I can just take it off whenever it’s too hot that I can’t breathe anymore.

Also, I would like to commend our tour guide from Mascap. I swear, he’s really accommodating.  His name  is Jonathan Zonio (09953240346). Please, if ever you will climb any of the mountains in Mascap, kindly look for him.

AND…. THAT’S IT!!! That’s a little too tough but with determination and perseverance, you will surely complete hiking these mountains! Enjoy the magnificent view from up above!
